Blackburn Shark – Floatplane Version

Highly detailed 3D-printed scale model of the Blackburn Shark in its floatplane configuration, faithfully reproducing one of the most interesting variants of this British naval aircraft.

The Blackburn Shark was developed in the early 1930s as a carrier-based torpedo-spotter and reconnaissance aircraft. The prototype flew for the first time in 1933, and production aircraft entered Fleet Air Arm service in 1934. In addition to its landplane configuration, the Shark was adapted for operation as a seaplane and could be used from ships equipped for launching and recovering floatplanes. The aircraft was valued for its seaworthiness and good handling on water. Sharks were also operated by the Portuguese Navy, which received six floatplane aircraft in the mid-1930s for coastal defence duties.

This model represents the float-equipped version and has been designed with particular attention to the unusual proportions and structural details of the original aircraft.
